October’s job report saw a gain of 250,000 nonfarm jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly employment report. There was an increase in health care, manufacturing, construction, transportation and warehousing.
Over the past three months, job gains have averaged 218,000 per month.
October’s unemployment rate remained at 3.7%. The civilian labor force participation increased slightly from 62.7% to 62.9%.
The report found that in October, average hourly earnings for employees on private, nonfarm payrolls rose by 5 cents to $27.30. Over the year, average hourly earnings have risen by 3.1%.
