The temperature drops, sunlight becomes fleeting, and the days feel shortened – fall is here. While summer is over and we’re quickly reminded that the end of the year is approaching, there are many things you can do to pick yourself up and enjoy this season. Check out these simple activities to make the most of this fall.
Go at it alone, make some time with your family and friends, or take it as an opportunity to strengthen your connection with your network. You can also do some of these activities for great team-bonding experience. There are multiple things you can do by yourself or with a group of people that can be enjoyable and will get yourself moving, out of the house or your workplace.
1) Visit a local pumpkin patch or an apple orchard
A fun day trip – you can pick up some produce to use in all your fall recipes.
2) Go for a hike to look at the fall foliage
Unlike summer, you'll have a lot less bugs to deal with.
3) Find local fall festivals in your area
There are so many different types of festivals in the fall so there's something for everyone, whether you're into beer or giant pumpkins.
4) Build a bonfire and make s'mores
Fall is the perfect weather for bonfires and you can't go wrong with making s'mores. Just make sure to check with local ordinances to make sure you can have bonfires where you live.
5) Rake leaves and jump into the pile
No one said you had to stop doing this once you became an adult. It's a good way to make your fall chores a lot more fun.
Prefer to stay somewhere warm and cozy? Nothing beats spending a chill day inside doing your favorite things. These are great activities to do with people or alone, and will allow you to sit back and take a breather from the daily grind.
6) Make fall treats
Caramel apples, pumpkin bread, and apple cider will not only give you a use for all of your in-season produce, but are always crowd-pleasers to share with co-workers.
7) Test out recipes for the holidays
Do a trial run of new recipes that you want to make for your various holiday functions with family or friends. You'll get to find out if you like it and spend some quality time with your loved ones.
8) Work on your crafts
Ramp up your creativity or learn a new craft skill. Make fall and holiday decorations and embellish your home or workstation to freshen up your setting.
9) Watch Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes of your favorite TV shows
Get yourself in the holiday spirit with re-runs of all of your favorite shows and movies.
