March’s job report saw a gain of 103,000 nonfarm jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly employment report. There was an increase in manufacturing, health care and mining.
Over the past three months, job gains have averaged 202,000 per month.
March’s unemployment rate remained at 4.1%, the same as the past two months. The civilian labor force participation decreased slightly to 62.9%, down from 63.0% in February.
The report found that in March, average hourly earnings for employees on private, nonfarm payrolls rose by 8 cents to $26.82. Over the year, average hourly earnings have risen by 2.7%.
