Set yourself up for a productive work week

Set yourself up for a productive work week

Feb 23, 2018

Mondays - perhaps one of the most dreaded days of the week. After a weekend of rest, going back to work can be a draining thought. Of course, sulking won't get you anywhere. Starting your week right can make a difference in your productivity. Approach the beginning of your work week with the right mindset to set the right tone for the following days. Here are three tips to improve your Mondays.

1 - Find ways to be positive

Instead of wasting time and energy to grumble about work, spend at least five minutes meditating. Meditation can help you to de-stress, be introspective, and ease both your body and mind. Additionally, throughout the day you can take breaks or walks to get your gears running, change your setting, and boost your energy. Eating the right meals and snacks can also improve your energy levels.

2 - Organize your week

Make a list of things you need to get done for that week. Find out what your priorities are and create weekly goals to make it easier for you to measure your success. You can also group each component on your list with others that have similarities. It'll make completing your tasks easier so you are not splitting up your energy and resources. With your list, you can schedule out your week and find out the best way to balance your workload throughout, then adjust as necessary later. This means not rushing to get everything done and potentially burning yourself out on Monday.

3 - Start off with something simple

Getting started can be the hardest. Stimulate your productivity and tap into your energy by getting something simple done right away. With an accomplishment underfoot, and one thing crossed off your checklist, it will be easier to get into the right mindset and get things going.

As your week draws to a close, don't forget to wrap up and unplug from your work so you can start your Monday refreshed.
