November’s job report saw a gain of 148,000 nonfarm jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly employment report. There was an increase in healthcare, construction and manufacturing.
Over the past three months, job gains have averaged 204,000 per month.
December’s unemployment rate remained at 4.1%, the same as November. The civilian labor force participation also remained the same as November, at 62.7%.
The report found that in December, average hourly earnings for employees on private, nonfarm payrolls rose by 9 cents to $26.63. Over the year, average hourly earnings have risen by 2.5%.
