November’s job report saw a gain of 228,000 nonfarm jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly employment report. There was an increase in professional and business services, manufacturing and health care.
Over the past three months, job gains have averaged 170,000 per month.
November’s unemployment rate remained at 4.1%, the same as October. The civilian labor force participation also remained the same as October, at 62.7%.
The report found that in November, average hourly earnings for employees on private, nonfarm payrolls rose by 5 cents to $26.55. Over the year, average hourly earnings have risen by 2.5%
