Check out a few questions and answers from our third installment below.
A - A few companies that we work with may be seasonal. Tell recruiters if you're open to seasonal work.
You can check our website on a weekly basis to see what's available. Be aware that things can change. Even if the kind of work you're looking for is temporarily unavailable, telling your recruiter that you are open to seasonal jobs will let them know to contact you if an opportunity opens. Remember, the more your recruiter knows about you, the better position they are to place you.
A - Timing is important.
The staffing industry operates at a lightning pace. Things can change daily and opportunities may open and close at any time. It is important to stay in contact with your recruiter since a position in the industry that you're seeking may not always be available. Let your recruiter know that you're still looking for work and can be reachable weekly.
A - The hiring company determines your wage.
Recruiters and the staffing agency do not decide how much you get paid. Companies let us know what positions they are hiring for, shifts and the compensation. Additionally, QPS does not charge you a fee to find you work and neither do we take money from your paycheck. The companies we partner with pay QPS to recruit candidates. Your success means ours as well - we're in this together.
A - Update your information any time there are major or minor changes.
Updating your contact information like your phone number immediately when it changes is important. You don't want to miss out on an opportunity if a recruiter cannot reach you when a position opens. Also, if it's been more than a year since you've applied, don't forget that you can reapply. You can update your application with QPS through an online portal here.
Even if you let your recruiter know that you're available, matching you with the right job can be challenging if we do not know your skills or experience. Fill out as much information as you can remember. Dates of employment are important and references are great to have. If you do not remember all the dates, talk to your recruiter. We know people and places and can help point you in the right direction.
