Do you need a resume? Not sure about the best way to make one? Here at QPS, our recruiters will work with you during your interview to build the right resume or improve upon the one you already have. To make this process go smoothly and to get the most out of it, there are a few things you should make sure to bring with you.
The first thing you should have with you are notes about your work history. Write down the approximate dates that you worked for each employer. You should include the name of each company, where it is located, your job title, and at least three duties you had for that position. If you're struggling with coming up with concise duties for your positions, just include as many details as you remember. We will work with you to describe a few duties to build your resume.
Do you have any special skills or certifications? Write it down in either a list or let us know what they are. These can be anything you've obtained through your work experience or your education. Your list can include everything from Microsoft Office experience, forklift experience, power/air tool experience and many others. Include anything that you have a skill at.
The final thing you should bring along is information about your education and certificates. Include things like names, locations, and any accomplishments that go along with them. If you are certified in a specific skill, like welding, include those as well. This information will help show the experience you have aside from just work experience and help fill in any resume gaps you may have.
