Interning while still in college or right after you graduate can be hugely beneficial. Most hear the word intern and automatically think an unpaid job but not all internships are unpaid and even if it is unpaid the experience you will gain can help you immensely in the long run. The most beneficial part of any internship is the experience you will gain.  While learning in a classroom is great for some people being able to use all that information in a real world experience will help you take that learning to the next level. Network

Interning gives you the chance to meet a lot of people in the industry and network with them. These people have insights into the industry and will know about job openings or organizations to be a part of. The contacts you meet are great resources and are right at your fingertips to answer questions.  You may even find a mentor in the process. 

Employment opportunities

Internships can be a great transition into full time employment. You have learned the processes and procedures for the company and the managers have had a chance to see how you interact with the team and the quality of your work. If your internship doesn’t turn into full time employment right away you still have established a relationship with that manager and you may be able to get into that company in the future.
