Leisa Fox is the Regional Vice President of Sales for Region 4 at QPS Employment Group. While leading the sales effort in Iowa, she focuses on building trust and teamwork at the branch level along with working on processes to help Sales Reps become more productive and increase their opportunities for success. She loves seeing the confidence in her team build as they learn and grow, however hates those reports. Leisa is a 30,000 foot view kind of person, so digging into the details is something that she continues to work at and improve every day.
Leisa is a graduate of Iowa State with a degree in Speech Communication. Before joining QPS, Leisa had a variety of jobs which included selling office products and furniture, selling commercial property casualty insurance and most recently as the Sr. VP for Revenue and Programs for the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.
Throughout Leisa’s years of experience, she has learned many lessons. The most important one came from Jim Collins, one of her favorite leadership gurus. He states, “It’s important to get the right people in the right seats on the bus.”
Leisa has also learned from many mentors. Her best mentor was Dennis Murdock, a former chair of the association she worked for. When he took over, he told her, “I expect failure. If we aren’t failing, we aren’t taking risks. If we aren’t taking risks, we aren’t growing.”
Leisa truly believes women need to confidently take their seat at the table, make their expectations known, pay their dues, work harder than anyone else there and stop whining. She states, “We have to first believe that we are equal and demand what we are owed.”
Leisa is currently on the board for the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Urbandale Economic Development Council. She most recently serviced as Caucus Chair for her precinct and served as Advisory Board Member for Elevate, Iowa’s campaign to elevate careers in manufacturing.
