Position Title: Bag Machine Operator
Wage: $13.00 per hour

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Operate assigned web within the bounds of the machine operating standards (ESOC's). - Maintain product quality in accordance with product standards, treatment level, and visual attributes (creases, scratches, or feathered edge.) - Make up boxes and pallets for packing. - Ability to operate the Rewinder, take radiation readings, and take all machine readings. - Loading/unloading rolls, monitoring machine settings, inputting production, packaging product, troubleshooting machines. - Perform on-line inspection of manufactured product. - Resolves production problems by altering minor machine set points. Notifies Shift Supervisor for assistance as needed. - Document machine settings and quality checks/tests. Requirements:- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. - Cannot be sensitive to inks, solvents or powder.- Must be able to complete repetitive hand motions. - Must be able to stand entire 8-12-hour shift. - Must be able to complete repetitive stoop, kneel, and squat on a rare basis. - Must be able to have excellent hand/eye coordination.- Must have basic computer skills. - Must be able to read a ruler to 1/16. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Pull bottles from machines (3000 bottles per 8-hour shift) and visually inspect bottles for defects and tear off flash.- Observe machine for jamming of bottles, pull buzzer to alert technician of issue.- Assembles cardboard cartons and trays using a tape gun (50 assembled per shift).- Sort bottles by bottle and label color (Red are packaged with all red and blue are packaged with all blue).- Place bottles on cardboard cartons and trays and verify the bottles are correct with the job order.- Assemble boxes and operate tape machine when on box job.- Will be responsible for operating forklift if certified with client.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- All maintenance of a mechanical nature, including piping, sheet metal and minor electrical work such as replacing blown fuses, sealing heaters, pilot lights and plug-in modules.- Required to use common hand tools, power tools and test equipment such as a continuity tester and volt-ammeter.- Work on compressed air lines and equipment instrumentation as required.- Assist other mechanics as directed and is responsible for clean-up after assignments are completed.- All mechanical work necessary for annual machine overhauls.- Will be required to do some welding and fabrication of metal machine guards from blueprints, sketches and/or verbal instructions in a good work-like manner.- Read and understand blue prints and technical drawing.- Perform all gas, MIG and TIG welding and fabrication.- Read and follow instructions.- Be able to write or print legible.- Record complete work in log books on equipment.- In performing all job duties, safe work practices must be maintained.- Provide training on new and existing equipment.- All Good Manufacturing Practices must be followed.- Know and maintain respective role in Food Safety.- Be an active member of the Centerville Bemis Emergency Brigade if assigned to Extrusion Area or provides vacation coverage for Extrusion Mechanic or Shift Mechanic. Requirements:- Must provide own personal hand tools and not be sensitive to powder or solvents. - Complete 21 Home Study Courses in appropriate time.- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.- Industrial Maintenance Diploma or equivalent industrial maintenance experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in a mechanical support role.
