Position Title: Machine Operator Assistant
Shift: 2nd, 3rd
Hours: 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Setup bundle breaker, lay boy, shrink tunnel, load former, prefeeder, print, and die cut sections in accordance to proper setup techniques - Inspect annilox rolls for damage, before and after each runner - Inspect all dies and plates before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run - Monitor box quality, including but not limited to loose liner, wrap, correct size and print - Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed - Switch duties with operator to promote training and promotable opportunities - Assist operator with job duties on the machine once Lockout/Tag out training has been completed - Enter information into computers to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and number of outs; verify accuracy of information in computer - Execute order changes - Cross check board being produced with the corrugator dry end lineup or order scheduling computer display to ensure it is the proper board test, size, scores are properly positioned and have the correct depth, color, and coating - Visually observe and physically check board for quality, including but not limited cracked scores, cut liner or medium, loose edges or liner, oil, blisters, wrinkles, wash board, warp, clean slits, proper score depth, and appearance; perform soak tests as needed - Set slitter to bring up the next run as necessary to avoid overruns or underruns - Set-up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed - Communicate messages to the wet end regarding necessary adjustments - Clear jams safely and assist in correcting other problems - Secure proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs - Stack finished boxes in accordance with factory master and ensure correct bundle and unit counts- Monitor quality of boxes and report quality problems to operator - Assist operator and first helper as necessary - Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner - Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs
Requirements:- Must be able to do repetitive hand motions constantly - Must be able to hold, grasp, and pinch with hands at all times - Must be able to work in wet and/or humid conditions - Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull, twist, and reach repetitively throughout the day - Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. regularly - Must be able to reach above waist height frequently - Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus - Must have ability to work with other crew members and be able to take direction from supervisor- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals - Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts on a regular basis - Ability to work in an environment with loud noise level

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Use an electric hand drill, drill screws into lumber pieces to assemble swing sets - Operate a hand pallet jack to move pallets of wood around production area - Operate a hand saw to cut small pieces of wood - Perform visual inspection of parts as needed - Give feedback with continuous improvement, ergonomic and safety ideas- Notify assembly line leads if anything in production looks incorrect, packaged wrong, damaged, or unsafe to use- Keep work area clean, including banding, picking up paper, trash, and cardboard on floor - Examine finished product to verify conformance to quality standards - Return tools to proper locations after use - Count finished products to determine if products orders are complete
Requirements:- Prefer HSD or GED - Walk and stand for 8 hour shift - Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands - Must have good vision - Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis - Must be able to occasionally be able to be exposed to extreme heat - Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos - Ability to effectively present information to the line leader and or supervisor - Ability to calculate basic math problems such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instruction
