Position Title: TIG Welder – 1st Shift

Wage: $23.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5:00am-2:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components for final assembly of food and dairy equipment.
- Select equipment and plan layouts for welding and assembly of each project.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together to blueprint specifications.
- Secure and TIG weld parts on stainless steel equipment, monitoring for warpage and metal fatigue. Inspect final part for squareness and flatness.
- Straighten as needed using heat, press, clamps, or other methods.
- Assemble parts per assembly drawings and/or engineering instructions.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and rewelding per instructions or blueprint drawings.

Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-year minimum previous TIG welding experience required.
- Previously assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Certified, or the ability to be certified, to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
