Position Title: Inspector – 1st Shift

Wage: $16.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm

QPS has a client in Waukesha, WI looking to fill a 1st shift Inspector position. The Inspector position is responsible for checking and inspecting all in-coming materials as well as in-process and finished products. This position is looking for someone that can handle a high level of responsibility and that wants to learn and excel in their career. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications
- Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits
- Complete required records and paperwork
- Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit and appearance
- Perform tests including hardness testing and magna-flux testing
- Route product for re-work
- Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation
- Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability

Requirements for Inspector:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two years in a related manufacturing environment
- At least one year of experience in a quality role preferred
- Experience with email, Microsoft Word or other word processing system, Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet application; SAP experience is a plus
- Able to read, analyze and interpret documents such as blueprints, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations
- Able to write routine reports and documentation
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerances, proportions and percentages
- Able to use various tools and equipment to include micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, paint film gauge, squares, hardness testers, measuring tape, profile gauge, and various other precision measuring devices
