Position Title: Packaging Technician - Night Shift

Wage: $16.96/hour

Shift: Night

Hours: 6pm-6am rotating schedule; 2 days on, 2 days off

QPS is hiring Packaging Technicians to work for our client in Fitchburg, WI that designs, manufactures, and markets thermoformed plastic packaging for products in the food, retail, and medical device markets.

The Packaging Technician is responsible for inspection and packaging of thermoformed parts to specification. They also operate finishing and support equipment in accordance with process control plan and work instructions. This job is temp to hire and upon being hired, you'll become eligible for their awesome benefits, including medical insurance, 401(k) match, profit sharing, and more! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards
- Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases; use case taper to secure cases
- Verify material for disposal and regrind; remove tubs of recycling material from the operations floor
- Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels
- Process skid and hold tags
- Actively participate in layered audits
- Conduct oracle transactions as needed
- Identify and communicate quality deviations or nonconforming product
- Read product drawings and perform product measurements
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work area clean at all times
- Participate in 5S programs
- Follow all established safety procedures and use proper PPE as required

Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training, safety, and quality requirements
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Lift 10lbs continuously
- Lift 11-30lbs regularly
- Lift 31-50lbs occasionally
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting
- Stand for 12-hour shift
