Position Title: Industrial Sewing - 1st or 2nd
Wage: $15.00 - $15.25/hour
- Increase to $15.50/hour ($15.75 – 2nd shift) after 4wks- Increase to $16.00/hour ($16.25 – 2nd shift) after 8wks- Increase to $16.50/hour ($16.75 – 2nd shift) after 12wks- Increase to $17.00/hour ($17.25 – 2nd shift) after 16wks- Increase to $17.50/hour ($17.75 – 2nd shift) after 20wks- Once hired on full-time, hourly rate increases to $19.59 for first shift; 2nd shift receives an additional $1.60 shift premium for total hourly rate of $21.19Shift: 1st or 2nd
Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm or 4:00pm – 12:30am

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Select proper parts for production operations- Check parts against work order to insure proper type, color and number of parts- Measure parts to verify correct dimensions- Carry parts to sewing machine and layout parts consistent with guide marks and operating experience- Place parts in proper location and direction- Operate sewing machine to attach parts such as logo, pleats, pockets, wear faces, drop curtains, windows, velcro, foam, guide strips, etc.- Change threads and bobbins, adjusting tension to produce proper stitching- Perform closing operations such as inserting fiberglass stays- Operate grommet machine to insert grommet into materials - Place finished orders in proper storage rack location and mark schedule on job card- Perform minor sewing machine maintenance- Set band saw stops to cut required length fiberglass stays- Operate punching machine to punch holes
Requirements:- Six to twelve months of experience in sewing operations - Able to read and understand written instructions - Able to operate an industrial sewing machine and grommet machine - Able to operate a variety of hand tools such as a tin snips, glue gun, vice grips and utility knife
