Position Title: CNC Machine Operator
Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am-3pm
This job is located in Evansville, WI and founded in 1873, consists of three divisions: the Baker Casting Division which pours gray and ductile iron castings, the Haight Pump Division which produces gear pumps, and the Baker Water Systems Division which produces products for residential, municipal/industrial, and environmental use. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Set up and operate numerical control machine to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications - Review setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece - Attach fixture to machine bed and positions and secure work piece in fixture according to setup instructions - Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position tool holders in machine spindles as specified or insert cutting tools in specified machine magazines - Load control media such as disk, tape, or other in machine control console or enter commands to retrieve pre-programmed machine instructions from database - Manipulate controls and enter commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine - Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools - Change cutting tools and location of workpiece during machining process as specified in setup instructions - Measure workpiece for conformance to specifications - Notify supervisor of discrepancies - Diagnose program or machine discrepancies and take corrective action by making offset or other changes to numerically controlled program - Adjust machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions - Machine materials other than metal such as composites, plastic, and rubber - Maintain and record accurate count of workpieces produced and personal hourly attendance data- Practice safe work habits, maintain workplace in good order, and wear all issued personal protective equipment in the workplace
Requirements:- Able to stand for an entire shift- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. - Excellent hand/eye coordination and excellent fine motor skills - Regularly use hands and fingers and handle or feel parts - Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts on an occasional basis - Experience of hand tools like hand drill - Ability to read, speak, and understand English
