Preparing for your upcoming day the night before can do wonders for your stress level. Whether it's your first day at a new job or a very important meeting, a few small things can make your day go smoother and allow you to focus on the task at hand. Here are a couple of tips that will help you reduce your stress the day of.

Pack Your Bag

Get your work bag together the night before and make sure it has everything you need. First day at a new job? Make sure you have all the necessary documents to complete your paperwork. Important presentation? Make sure you have any printouts and saved files you need. If going to the gym after work is your thing, pack all your gym necessities the night before as well.

Get Your Lunch Ready

If you're someone who regularly brings a lunch from home, preparing it the night before can help your morning go much smoother. If you end up a bit rushed for time in the morning, it's all ready to go and you won't be stuck resorting to the greasy fast food down the street. If you really want to make things easier on yourself, make a whole week of lunches on Sunday so all you have to do the night before is throw them in a bag.

Prep Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, make sure you don't skip it by preparing it the night before. Depending on how much time you have to eat it, you can do everything from overnight oats to something as simple as putting a granola bar in your bag to eat on your commute if you're really strapped for time.

Pick Out Your Outfit

Unless your job requires a uniform, this can sometimes be the most stressful part of your morning. Laying out what you're going to wear, and even trying it on beforehand, can help you avoid those ‘I have nothing to wear' moments and prevent added stress in the morning.

There are so many little things you can do to make your day less stressful. What are some ways you prepare for tomorrow, today?
