Leaves changing, days shortening and pumpkin flavors galore. You know what that means, fall is in the air. While the temperature may be dropping and the sunlight fleeting, there are many fun things to do in fall that you really can't do any other time of the year. Here are some fun fall activities to slip into your work-week to ensure you make the most of this season.

Visit a local pumpkin patch or an apple orchard

A fun day trip, plus you can pick up some produce to use in all your fall recipes.

Go for a hike to look at the fall foliage

Unlike summer, you'll have a lot less bugs to deal with.

Find local fall festivals in your area

There are so many different types of festivals in the fall so there's something for everyone, whether you're into beer or giant pumpkins.

Build a bonfire and make s'mores

Fall is the perfect weather for bonfires and you can't go wrong with making s'mores. Just make sure to check with local ordinances to make sure you can have bonfires where you live.

Make fall treats

Caramel apples, pumpkin bread, and apple cider will not only give you a use for all of your in-season produce, but are always crowd pleasers to share with co-workers.

Rake leaves and jump into the pile

No one said you had to stop doing this once you became an adult. It's a good way to make your fall chores a lot more fun.

Test out recipes for the holidays

Do a trial run of new recipes that you want to make for your various holiday functions with family or friends. You'll get to find out if you like it and spend some quality time with your loved ones.

Hay ride

Get your friends or family together and do this together for a stereotypical fall experience.

Watch Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes of your favorite TV shows

Get yourself in the holiday spirit with re-runs of all of your favorite shows and movies.
