QPS Has Positions Available at Riverbend Industries in Victor, IA!

Riverbend currently runs four shifts 6am-6pm [A and C Shifts]. Two 6pm-6am shifts [B and D Shifts]. They run two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off. Two weekends a month are required, but you will get two three days weekends.   

Position: Machine Operator
Wage: $10.00 hr.
Shift: All
 

   Responsibilities:

  • Independently removes plastic parts from team’s injection molding machines or conveyors and inspects the parts for quality defects
  • Independently trims, clips and assembles parts as is specified by job operation sheets, then packages parts in boxes
  • Labels boxes and stacks skids with filled boxes for shipping. Independently completes production reports as directed
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area
  • Cooperates with members of team, communicating ideas and concerns in a positive results oriented manner
  • Protects molds
  • Performs assembly or secondary operations as required and assists the team and rest of shift in any manner needed
  • Performs job duties in accordance with ISO 9002 Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Read and follow job operation sheets daily to insure quality of assemblies

 
   Requirements:

  • Perform simple math functions for production counts and down time.
  • Follow written directions on job operation sheets.
  • Communicate in a courteous manner when dealing with other people.
  • Work independently without constant supervision.
  • Accurately determine whether a manufactured part conforms to quality specifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Move from area to area, and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to work in an environment that can be very warm and dusty

 

Position: Mold Changer
Wage: $11.00 hr.
Shift: A/C [6am-6pm], B/D [6pm-6am]
 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain optimum cycle times and production rates consistent with quality standards.
  • Must get authorization from Technician and/or Supervisor prior to all start-ups.
  • Must obtain Technician or Supervisor and QA approval on all start-ups.
  • Cooperates with members of team, communicating ideas and concerns in a positive results oriented manner
  • Create positive work environment with personnel in assigned area.
  • Documents changes and adjustments to job process and other paperwork as instructed.
  • Reacts to quality problems quickly, consulting with Lead Technician, Technician, Supervisor or QA for appropriate action on persistent problems.
  • Insures molds are handled properly. Set molds for production runs, place in press and clamp mold in press. Set machining controls per set-up sheets.
  • Set up work station insuring proper placement of all tables, hot stamper, chutes, conveyor, water tubs, etc. Insure that work station set-up is efficient, safe, and has adequate egress to ensure the work station is production ready.
  • Insures that safety practices and procedures are followed on the production floor. Inspect equipment in assigned area to insure safety and performance each day at the beginning of the shift. Assists in other areas as needed.
  • Insures overall cleanliness of assigned area.
  • Assists in giving breaks, performing all Machine Operator essential functions.

 

 Requirements:

  • Ability to perform simple math functions for production counts, down time, cycle monitoring, etc.
  • Ability to follow written directions on key point cards and job operation sheets.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive, professional manner when dealing with other people.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to accurately determine whether a manufactured part conforms to quality specifications.
  • Ability to correct processing problems and deviations quickly and consistently.

 Previous injection molding experience necessary.
Previous experience in a similar technical position preferred.

 

Position: Process Technician
Wage: $13.00 hr.
Shift: A/C [6am-6pm], B/D [6pm-6am]
 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain optimum cycle times and production rates consistent with quality standards.
  • Trains and monitors personnel at their work stations, ensuring production standards, employee performance and safety.
  • Provides input and assistance to Supervisor regarding quality issues.
  • Creates a positive work environment with personnel in assigned area.
  • Documents changes and adjustments to job process and other paperwork as instructed.
  • Reacts to quality problems quickly, consulting with Lead Technician, Supervisor or QA for appropriate action on persistent problems.
  • Insures molds are handled properly. Set molds for production runs, place in press and clamp mold in press. Set machining controls per set-up sheets.

  • Ability to communicate in a positive, professional manner when dealing with other people.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to accurately determine whether a manufactured part conforms to quality specifications.
  • Ability to correct processing problems and deviations quickly and consistently.
  • Knowledge and consistent application of Lockout/Tagout on all equipment.

 Previous injection molding experience necessary.
Previous experience in a similar technical position preferred.

 

Position: Shift Supervisor
Wage: $22.00 hr.
Shift: A/C [6am-6pm], B/D [6pm-6am]
 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all personnel and operations on the shift, ensures safety practices and procedures are followed. Assures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed, enforcing discipline if necessary.
  • Coaches, trains and evaluates personnel at various work stations. In connection with HR and other personnel, evaluate and issue performance appraisals in a timely manner.
  • Leads Emergency Action Team on shift, including emergency evacuations, shut down, CPR, First Aid, etc., until professional assistance arrives.
  • Ensure productive and safe utilization.
  • Inspect parts and samples as requested by Quality personnel, helping to make decisions if parts are not up to standard, ie: shut machine down, slow cycle, etc., and document changes properly.
  • Ensure proper communication to next shift's supervisor and other departments regarding plant/ production status.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Keeps records of departmental activities and required. (i.e. Log books)
  • Confer with plant management to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production. Coordinate and follow-up to assure completion of production schedule.
  • Schedule production meetings as necessary with key personnel-QA, Technicians, Utilities, and Technician Apprentices, to discuss the shift schedules. Meeting should be no longer than 10 minutes.
  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting processing problems when Technicians need assistance.
  • Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department (ie. 98% efficiency & 100% labor utilization).
  • Periodically during each shift check to see that packaging, packing, labeling, piece counts, material handling, machine process documentation proper operating techniques are correct. Verify that Machine Operators have read and signed and are following the J.O.S.
  • Work with managers to design and install systems that prevent problems in all departments.
  • Must be able to read and interpret our aggregate reports, NCR’s, OPR’s and shift reports.
  • Work with customers and personnel, to match customer needs to manufacturing profitability while maintaining a professional relationship.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with ISO 9002 procedures and work instructions.

 

 Requirements:

  • Ability to address employee concerns, performance issues and other personnel problems in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner when dealing with other people.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to perform simple math functions for production counts, down time, cycle monitoring, etc.
