I’ve never used a staffing service before. What are the benefits?

At QPS, we partner with hundreds of companies throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. We recruit for positions unadvertised and unavailable through other mediums. In addition, our highly experienced recruiters will be able to help you find the company that’s the best match for your skills and interests.

Will I be charged a fee to use your service?

No, you will never be charged for utilizing our services.

How do I apply for a job through QPS?

Simply visit the Search Jobs section of our site. There, you will be able to explore and apply for a variety of temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire opportunities.

What kind of jobs do you offer?

We place qualified individuals into a wide range of jobs, including industrial, technical, office, and professional on a temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire basis.

What does temp-to-hire mean?

Temp-to-hire means you have been assigned to a temporary job assignment, with the possibility of being hired on by the client company. This is meant to be a long-term assignment, as long as you fulfill your obligations as an employee, and the employer is interested in utilizing your services on a more permanent basis. As a temporary employee, you will work for QPS Employee Group. If your assignment converts to a hire, you will become an employee of the company where you are working.

What does direct-hire mean?

Direct hire means that QPS is evaluating candidates for a job with one of our clients. If we think your skills and experience are a good fit, we will check with you to see if you would be interested in the job. If you are interested, we will then forward your information to our client for consideration. QPS will then work with you and our client to schedule interviews and facilitate the hiring process. If our client decides to make you an offer, and you accept, you will work directly for our client.

How many times should I check in regarding my availability for work?

Depending on the position you’re seeking, your recruiter will let you know the appropriate number of times you should check in.

How can I increase my chances of obtaining a position with you?

Fill out your application carefully and completely, and explain any gaps in your employment history to the recruiter with whom you speak. Project a positive attitude when interviewing, and keep your contact information accurate so we are able to easily reach you.

What if I am not interested in a certain position when it is offered; is it all right to turn it down?

Not every job is going to meet the expectations you have. If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline. We will continue to offer positions to you based on your skills and preferences.

What if I am on an assignment and decide it is not for me?

We realize that not every position is a good fit for you; sometimes you do not know that until you have tried the position. If you are on a job and find it is not going to work for you, we ask that you contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will attempt to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. As with any interaction, communication is the key. We expect open communication from you and you can expect the same from QPS.

Do you provide transportation to job sites?

In some markets we do offer transportation. The service is not mandatory, however, and we do encourage people to find their own transportation. Fees for transportation range from $2.50 to $6.00 per day. Please call QPS at 1.800.300.4800 or contact us to find out if we offer transportation in your area.

Who determines the pay rate I am paid?

The pay rates we offer are dictated by our clients. We pay our employees the rate our clients allow us to bill. Pay levels vary at each company and are based on location, job description, candidate experience, and market conditions.

What kind of benefits do you offer to temporary and temp-to-hire employees?

Eligible employees at QPS are provided with a wide range of benefits, including: health insurance, holiday pay, and referral bonuses. Please visit the Benefits page of our website for more details.

Do I need a resume?

It is highly recommended that you bring a resume or written job history along with you. Our recruiters can easily, effectively, and quickly place you in an open position if you have a resume available to send out to prospective employers. However, you are not required to bring a resume with you to QPS when filling out an initial job application. And, if you don’t have a resume currently, we are happy to assist you in creating one.
