Post-Accident Drug Testing: Resources for Employers

Dec 19, 2016

Overview

At QPS, we take the health and safety of our workers very seriously and this includes maintaining a drug free workplace. While respecting worker rights, we follow all OSHA, EEOC and local guidelines in regards to pre-employment and post-accident drug testing. Outlined below is our own policy along with employer resources in the unfortunate event someone reports for work and appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Reasonable Suspicion Checklist

If someone is believed to be under the influence at a work site, we follow and ask our employers to follow this Reasonable Suspicion Checklist.

Reasonable Suspicion Drug Testing Steps

If an employee has exhibited impairment from the items on the Reasonable Suspicion Checklist, we ask that the client notify QPS as well as follow the steps outlined here in the Reasonable Suspicion Drug Testing Steps.

Training

The QPS Risk Department offers training on Reasonable Suspicion as well as a number of other health and safety topics for you and your employees. For more information, contact our Risk Control Manager, Jen Wilken to discuss options.
